Delete your account
1Delete it yourself, in the app
The quickest way, and it takes about thirty seconds.
- Open HAULR and go to Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is closed immediately and your data is queued for deletion.
2Or ask us to do it
If you've already removed the app, lost access to your phone, or would simply rather we handled it, email us from the address on your account.
We will confirm your identity, delete the account, and email you when it is done. We action requests as soon as we can, and always within 20 working days, as required by the Privacy Act 2020. If you also want the device records described below removed, say so in your email and we will do that too.
3What gets deleted
Deleted immediately when your account closes:
- Your profile, including your name, email address and phone number
- Your vehicle details, including dimensions and load configuration
- Your saved routes and favourites
- Your trip history
- Documents you uploaded, including your profile photo, licence and certificates
- Our copy of your subscription record
4What we keep, and why
Some information stays, either because the law requires it or because it no longer identifies you:
- Billing and tax records: kept for 7 years, as New Zealand tax law requires. Apple and Google also keep their own records of purchases made through them, which we can't delete on your behalf.
- Store billing event logs: kept with your user ID removed, so they no longer identify you.
- Error reports you submitted: the bridge or restriction data stays, because we may have corrected our dataset based on it. Your identity is removed from it.
- Device records: a hashed device identifier, device type, IP address and push token, held against the device rather than your profile.
- Server logs and backups: these expire on their own cycle, so deleted information can persist in them for a short period afterwards.
If you want the device records removed as well, email us and we'll do it manually.
5Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your HAULR account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed by Apple and Google, not by us, and they'll keep billing you until you cancel with them.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › HAULR › Cancel subscription
- Android: Google Play › profile icon › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › HAULR › Cancel
- Enterprise fleet account: email us and we'll sort the billing out with your account holder
Cancel first, then delete. If you delete first and find you're still being billed, email us and we'll help you sort it.
6If you drive under a fleet account
If your HAULR account is managed by an employer or fleet account holder, deleting your personal account removes your personal details and your access, but records held by the fleet account holder remain theirs. That can include trips you completed for them and the loads those trips relate to.
We can tell you what we hold and delete what's ours. Anything held in your employer's own records is a conversation to have with them.
